1930s Vionnet Design Bias Cut Shell Pink Gown with a Twist

1930s evening gown in pale pink silk crepe. Amazing design details: bias cut panels in the skirt and a twisted draping front. There is a pink slip that goes with it that is equally detailed.

This piece came from an old wealthy NY estate. Each piece was stored with a label saying the owner's name and describing the garment. This dress and another were described as being Vionnet gowns on the handwritten tags they were stored with. They are otherwise unlabeled. My guess is that they were made in New York using Vionnet patterns. Last photo is of the slip.

Condition: There is staining under the arms, stitching need reinforcing and there are light stain marks at the waist.
